Better informed about BizPal and Canada Business

WELLINGTON, PEI – Jan. 29, 2013 – Eleven people from the community, mostly representing co-ops and businesses, received lots of information about two free government services during a lunch-and-learn in Wellington Jan. 28.

During this event, hosted by the Wellington Rural Action Centre and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, participants learned all about Canada Business (a resource centre for businesses) and the BizPal web site.

This site allows entrepreneurs to access from a single, central location all the municipal, provincial and federal permits and licenses they need to start or expand a business.

In the photo, from left, are the three presenters: Gerald Arsenault, entrepreneurial development officer with Innovation PEI who explained the BizPal site, Deborah Doucette, business development officer with Canada Business, and Beth Doyle, BizPal coordinator. Among the participants were Carmella Richard from Coopérative d’hébergement Le Bel Âge and Edmond Gallant from the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel.
