Communicators communicating in Yellowknife

YELLOWKNIFE, NWT – March 7, 2013 – Members of the National Communications Committee, the communications officers from the 13 provincial and territorial RDÉEs, gathered in Yellowknife, in the Northwest Territories, for their winter conference Feb. 27-28.

They had the opportunity to discuss national communication strategies, to exchange best practices and to learn new techniques related to their field.

The francophone MLA for Range Lake, Daryl Dolynny, spoke to them about the territories’ unique parliamentary system, which operates by consensus and without political parties; they then got a tour of the Legislative Assembly building and attended a Chamber session. Various visits and recreational events were offered in the evenings.

Shown during a supper at Bullock’s Bistro are Julie Gagné, communications coordinator for RDÉE Canada; Raymond J. Arsenault, communications officer with RDÉE Prince Edward Island; and Batiste Foisy, communications officer with RDÉE NWT, who organized the group’s social events.

RDÉE Canada is the only national francophone network for economic development.
