Denis Laframboise appointed new Board Chair of RDÉE Canada

MartinMarcoux2014lowres08-68-32OTTAWA, June 13, 2014 – At its first meeting following the annual general meeting of RDÉE Canada, the new Board of Directors of the nation’s Francophone economic development and employability network appointed Denis Laframboise as its new Chair. 

Mr. Laframboise succeeds Gilles Lanteigne, whose term as Chair has ended and who will remain on the Board as Vice-Chair. “I would like to thank Gilles Lanteigne for his outstanding contribution to the development of RDÉE Canada during his two years as Chair. He definitely advanced our good governance practices,” said Denis Laframboise, the incoming RDÉE Canada Board Chair.

“It is a great honour and pleasure to be elected Chair,” continued Mr. Laframboise. “I want to thank the members of the Board of Directors for their confidence. My vision is for RDÉE Canada to be the conduit between each of its provincial and territorial members. As such, we will encourage the sharing of best practices along with economic development and employability in Francophone and Acadian communities. The close collaboration between the national office team and the RDÉE Canada members is essential to achieve joint initiatives in line with the economic action areas of our 2013-2016 Strategic Plan.”

WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE

Denis Laframboise is an Ottawa resident who joined the national organization’s Board in 2011, serving as Vice-Chair before being elected Chair.

Mr. Laframbroise holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, a Certificate in Strategic Leadership, and is also a Certified General Accountant (CGA). Until his recent retirement, he was the President and CEO of Your Credit Union, in Ottawa. Mr. Laframboise’s career highlights include serving as financial analyst at the Fédération des caisses populaires de l’Ontario and as General Manager for three Caisses Populaires in that province. He has a solid knowledge in management, human resources and leadership.

He has been and continues to be actively involved in his community. The current Chair of the RDÉE Ontario Board of Directors, he has also served on the Boards of Montfort Hospital and the Montfort Hospital Foundation, and attended the Board meetings of the Fédération des caisses populaires de l’Ontario.

OTHER ELECTED BOARD MEMBERS

Michel Matifat (British Columbia) and Jean-François Pitre (Northwest Territories) were reappointed as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively. Newcomers to the RDÉE Canada Board include Michael Clair (Newfoundland and Labrador) and Mike St Onge (New Brunswick).

Martin Marcoux continues to serve on the RDÉE Canada board as PEI’s representative.
