First Christmas business mixer organized to thank Acadian entrepreneurs and employers

WELLINGTON – Nov. 29, 2013 – “Our Acadian and francophone entrepreneurs and employers work hard all year long to provide jobs to Islanders and to contribute to the economy of our communities. We therefore want to organize a little celebration for them, just before the holidays, to thank them and to tell them how much we appreciate them,” says Jeannette Arsenault, spokesperson for the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI.

This celebration will take on the form of a Christmas business mixer to be held Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5-7 p.m. in the Sunset Lounge at the Wellington Royal Canadian Legion. This will be a purely social event but those present are certainly invited to discuss business if they so desire.

“We’re inviting all entrepreneurs and employers, whether they are members of our chamber or not, along with their spouse/partner and employees. We hope that a lot of people will come out to chat and relax with us,” said Arsenault.

Those who attend will be able to enjoy, without cost, a bit of chicken fricot and chili, as well as various snacks. There will be draws for various door prizes and background music will be played. A bar service will also be available.

“This is not a formal occasion, so people certainly don’t have to wear tuxedoes or evening gowns to attend,” adds Arsenault with a chuckle. “This is also a free event.”
