RAC’s clients in the spotlight at Women’s Expo

stephanielowrescynthialowresCHARLOTTETOWN, PEI – March 11, 2014 – Ten Island businesses, all clients of the Island’s five Rural Action Centres (RACs), got a chance to bask in the spotlight at this year’s Ocean 100 Women’s Expo Saturday, March 8, at the Red Shores Charlottetown.

Ocean 100’s radio announcer Kerri Wynne MacLeod, who hosted a portion of the event, gave a 15-minute presentation on these businesses and their products and services in the style of « Oprah’s Favorite Things ».

Each of the 10 had brought their product for Wynne MacLeod to see or taste so she could describe them to the hundreds of expo participants.

Several of these clients, including two from the Wellington RAC, had some of their products for display and sale at the provincial RAC booth. In the first photo, Wellington RAC’s client information officer, Jeannine Arsenault, right, chats with her client, jewellery maker Cindy Poirier from Crowbait Creations. In the second photo, Arsenault is seen with Stéphanie St-Onge Cornish from Blossom Beauty Care, who specializes in reflexology and esthetics and who will soon also be a naturopath.
