Searching for Island businesses for sales mission to Montreal

CHARLOTTETOWN – May 24, 2017 – RDÉE Prince Edward Island is looking for eight Island business that have an ability do carry out business in French to participate in a third sales mission to Montreal Oct. 23-27, 2017.

“Our first two sales mission to Montreal generated exceptional results: more than $400,000 in sales as well as several other major contracts that are still being negotiated,” reports RDÉE mission co-ordinator Robert Maddix. “We are therefore looking to continue to multiply these successes.”

He explains that participating businesses must have a product or service that is ready or almost ready to be shipped and sold to the Montreal marketplace.

Businesses accepted for the mission will receive the visit of a consultant who will gather in-depth details about the products or services to be sold. He will then fix meetings for each Island participant with a minimum of eight potential buyers.

Participants will have to pay 60 per cent of their lodging and transportation costs (so between $750-$850). All other costs will be covered.

“If you consider that the 14 participants at our first two missions obtained average sales of more than $28,000, you’ll see that this is a great return on investment,” adds Maddix.

All those interested in participating are urged to contact Maddix at 902-370-7333, Ext. 403, or robert@rdeeipe.org as soon as possible to ensure their spot.

CUTLINE: Sylvain Gagné from Gagné Blueberries, seen setting up a beehive in one of his fields, represents one of the biggest success stories of RDÉE PEI’s sales missions to Montreal. Last fall, he managed to sell his entire 2017 production of wild blueberries; he is now making arrangements to buy berries from other Island growers to sell to his new buyers. RDÉE PEI is hoping for more of this kind of success as it organizes its third mission to Montreal this fall.
