andrew hickeyCecileKleinlowres1WELLINGTON – May 21, 2013 – The Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI and the Wellington Rural Action Centre will soon cohost two free information sessions for entrepreneurs and employers in Welllington.

The first session, to be held Thursday, June 12, at 1 p.m. will allow employers and human resource managers to learn about 12 new bundles of free online courses being offered by the eForcePEI initiative. These will be added to the more than 100 courses already available.

Andrew Hickey, eForcePEI’s project sales coordinator, will explain (in English only) how the program works and will give an overview of the types of courses that are available. These range from office computer programs to the handling of hazardous industrial chemicals. The deadline for registration is June 10 at noon.

The second session, delivered by Cécile Klein, business development officer with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, will be held Tuesday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. On her annual tour of PEI, Klein will speak about the main intellectual property rights: patents, trademarks, copyrights and industrial designs.

This session, delivered in French (and in English as needed), is therefore aimed at entrepreneurs or artists who develop products and want to learn how to protect their rights in relation to these products. The registration deadline is June 13 at noon.

To register for one or both of these free sessions, contact Jeannine Arsenault at (902) 854-3439, Ext. 228, or email jeannine@rdeeipe.org.
