
The youth first checked best-before dates on all the food items and then helped place the items on the bank’s shelves. Food bank co-coordinator Verna Barlow explained to the students the process that people must go through to ask for food donations and told them that on average, eight to 14 families ask for help each week.

This money represents half of the revenues from the family benefit Mega-Bingo held in Abram-Village Oct. 15 specifically to raise funds for two local food banks.
