WELLINGTON – Feb. 20, 2026 – The Baie Acadienne Development Corporation (SDBA) confirms that it will once again be a Gold-level sponsor of the 2026 Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala hosted by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI. This grand evening of entrepreneurial recognition will take place on Saturday, March 22, at the Village musical acadien in Abram-Village. In exchange for its sponsorship, the SDBA will have the privilege of co-sponsoring the 2026 Social Economy Business Award. The only finalist and winner in this category is La Voix acadienne, the community-owned francophone newspaper which is celebrating its 50 years of service. SDBA president Desmond Arsenault recently met with 2026 Gala coordinator Alecia Arsenault to discuss the event and, of course, to reserve his tickets! Speaking of tickets: they’ll be on sale for $50 each (tax included) only until Friday, March 13, and can be obtained in person at the Wellington Rural Action Centre, by e-mail at marthe@rdeeipe.org or by phone at 902-854-3439. The SDBA owns two commercial buildings in the Village of Wellington, including the Community Business Centre, which houses the head office of the CCAFLIPE, the Wellington Rural Action Centre, and their parent organization, RDÉE Prince Edward Island.
