CHARLOTTETOWN – Feb. 20, 2026 – Continuing its economic development efforts in Prince Edward Island, Innovation PEI has confirmed that it will return as a loyal platinum-level sponsor of the 2026 Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala hosted by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI. Gala coordinator Alecia Arsenault recently had the privilege of meeting with the Honorable Darlene Compton, who was, as the taking of this photo, Minister of Economic Development, Innovation, and Trade (responsible for Innovation PEI), to discuss the sponsorship. Arsenault explained that the government agency will present the trophy to the winner of the 2026 Social Economy Business Award: the francophone newspaper La Voix acadienne, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary of service to the community. The sponsorship will help cover the many expenses of the Gala, during which awards will be presented in six categories, and four businesspeople will be inducted into the PEI Acadian and Francophone Business Hall of Fame. Anyone wishing to attend the event is asked to purchase tickets ($50 each, tax included) by March 13 at the Wellington Rural Action Centre in person, by email at marthe@rdeeipe.org, or by phone at 902-854-3439. Payment can be made by e-transfer, credit card, or cash.
