18th sales mission heading to Montreal to sell PEI products and services

Networking reception planned

MONTREAL – Oct. 23, 2025 – Six businesses and organizations from Prince Edward Island will soon be heading to the Montreal, QC, area to try to sell their products or services: dog treats, specialty chocolates, cider, event decorating services, cultural products, and digital integration services. They will leave on Monday, Oct. 27, meet with a number of potential buyers on Oct. 28-30, and head back home Oct. 31.

Two other companies, preferring to participate virtually, had their business meetings over the past two weeks to sell plastic cutting boards and traceability software.

This is all part of the 18th sales mission organized by RDÉE Prince Edward Island to encourage trade between the two provinces. Coordinator Robert Maddix is very enthusiastic about the potential of this mission. “We have new people businesses onboard this time around, but we also have entrepreneurs who have already been there, who have seen the value of participating in these missions and who wanted to try to further develop their Quebec market.”

Recent RDÉE missions have generated short-term sales of approximately $1 million each. “We hope this mission will do the same,” Maddix added.

PARTICIPANTS

Participating in person in this fall’s mission:

• Purely PEI from Charlottetown will have 15 meetings to try to sell its dog treats, made from local ingredients such as lobster, sweet potatoes, oats, and organic blueberries.
• During its eight meetings, Choco Gourmet of Charlottetown will offer its delicious fine chocolates that are dairy-free and nut- and peanut-free.
• Regular participant Double Hill Cidery of Caledonia will continue to showcase its alcoholic and non-alcoholic apple ciders during its 15 meetings.
• The Fédération culturelle de l’ÎPÉ, from Charlottetown, will attempt to sell the products and services of PEI Acadian and Francophone artists and artisans during its 14 meetings, but it will also seek ideas for new cultural projects and activities and possibly identify Quebec artists who could come and perform on the Island.
• During its four meetings, Distinct Magic Events of Stratford will attempt to sell its private and corporate event decoration services.
• DataLogik of Charlottetown, during its 11 meetings, will once again offer its digital integration services via the Pimcore platform.

Quebec-based Clientis was once again selected to train participants on selling products and services in 30 minutes and to set up all appointments with potential buyers and distributors.

NETWORKING RECEPTION

On the evening of Oct. 29, RDÉE PEI, in collaboration with RDÉE Canada, will host a networking reception with most of the participating Island businesses, several targeted Quebec buyers, and some key players in the Quebec market. Organizers will show the value of these interprovincial sales missions, both for Island sellers and Quebec buyers, for job creation and for consumers of the involved products and services.

Among others, three Island companies will be serving their products during the reception: Julie Monfette of Choco Gourmet will present her fine dairy- and peanut-free chocolates, Sebastian Manago of Double Hill Cidery will offer his apple ciders with and without alcohol, and Robert Pendergast will be there to shuck oysters from Fortune Bay Oysters. In addition, Erika Marcelo from Purely PEI will present her dog treats.

The RDÉE PEI sales missions are funded by ACOA and Innovation ÎPÉ.
