Anyone who donated non-perishable food items to a food drive organized during Co-op and Small Business Weeks received a ticket for a chance to win the prize. A large amount of food has been donated to both locations since the beginning of the month.
On the morning of Oct. 27, the tickets collected at the credit union and the co-op were placed in the same box and thoroughly mixed. Diane McInnis, digital marketing officer at the credit union, and Chris O’Brien, manager of the co-op, then conducted a random draw.
All of the food collected will be taken to the West Prince Caring Cupboard food bank, Tyne Valley branch, on Wednesday morning, at the same time that students from Évangéline School bring in their school food drive contributions.
