Last call for tournament registration
WELLINGTON – Aug. 28, 2025 – “The Provincial Credit Union has been the main sponsor of our Acadian Golf Tournament since our very first edition, so this year will mark its 19th year with us,” says Jeannette Gallant, who coordinates both the tournament and the PEI Regional Committee of Les Jeux de l’Acadie. “We are very grateful for their financial and moral support since our very beginnings!”
In addition to its $1,000 sponsorship, the Credit Union will bring its special car to the tournament. Some of its employees will host a little game near one of the holes, offering small prizes to everyone who plays the game and giving golf balls to all participants. A team from the Credit Union will also participate in the tournament, which will take place at Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford Sunday, Sept. 7th (starting at noon).
In addition to all this, it was the Credit Union (when it was known as the Evangeline Credit Union) that provided the champions’ plaque. The original plaque is now full, so a new one will soon be prepared with the names of this year’s champions; it will be hung permanently in the Regional Committee office.
The credit union also encourages businesses and organizations to become hole sponsors ($125) or general sponsors of the tournament to support the cause, which aims to bring a delegation of about 100 youth and volunteers from the Island to the 45th Finals of Les Jeux de l’Acadie in Edmundston, N.B., June 24-29, 2026.

This article also serves as a last call for registrations, as the deadline to register (or become a sponsor) is this Friday, Aug. 29th. Golfers can choose to play in either the competitive or recreational division at a cost of $100 per person or $400 per team. In addition to a round of golf, players will have access to a golf cart and will receive a barbecued supper, a bag of goodies, and a chance to win a number of randomly drawn prizes.
Anyone or any company wishing to participate is asked to contact Jeannette Gallant at (902) 439-2791 or jeannettegallant@gov.pe.ca by Aug. 29.
