SUMMERSIDE – Aug. 25, 2025 – The Summerside Giant Tiger store is becoming a major sponsor of the Acadian Golf Tournament for the first time. This year’s tournament will take place on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 12 p.m. at the Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford.
In addition to entering a team in the tournament and sponsoring a hole, the store will provide all the hotdogs for the barbecue free of charge. It will also provide a goody bag (bottle of water, chips, candy, golf balls, etc.) for each of the more than 100 players.
The store’s owner-operator, Wayne Gallant, became particularly interested in the tournament’s cause (a fundraiser for the P.E.I. Regional Committee of the Jeux de l’Acadie) after his teenage daughter, Sophiya Culliton, participated in the last two finals of the Jeux de l’Acadie and the Jeux de la francophonie canadienne. P

Any other business wishing to become a hole sponsor ($125) or to offer any other type of sponsorship is asked to confirm its intentions by Aug. 29 at the latest. This is also the deadline for players to register, either competitively or recreationally. Registration is $100 per person or $400 per team. Any individual or company wishing to participate is asked to contact Jeannette Gallant at (902) 439-2791 or jeannettegallant@gov.pe.ca as soon as possible.
