Very happy winners of Co-op and Small Business Week drawing contest

ABRAM-VILLAGE – Oct. 20, 2025 – The five students from Évangéline School who won the top prizes in the recent “My Favorite Business or Co-operative” drawing contest, held as part of Co-op and Small Business Weeks, were extremely happy to receive their gifts on Monday, Oct. 20. The prizes were awarded by random draw.

Pictured are the five young winners, from left:

1. Nolane Elomo, Grade 4: an inflatable river tube for two people;
2. Samuel Arsenault, Grade 6: an instant camera (who also won one of the top prizes in the last two years of the contest, purely by coincidence);
3. Félix Arsenault, Grade 2: a scooter;
4. Mathis Doiron, Grade 3: a Rec-Tek combo pack of five games;
5. Caleb Arsenault, Grade 2: a chemistry set.

In the back row are three of the contest organizers who came to make the presentations: Chris O’Brien, manager of the Wellington Co-op, Diane McInnis, digital marketing officer with Provincial Credit Union, and Alecia Arsenault, events coordinator for the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI.

The Wellington Co-op provided the first prize, while MacDonald Insurance and Investments (The Co-operators) sponsored the four other prizes. Eighteen other students also received a variety of smaller prizes provided by The Co-operators and the Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline. A total of 44 youngsters from kindergarten to Grade 6 participated in the contest this year.
