Main tournament sponsor returning for 12th year

WELLINGTON – Aug. 14, 2017 – Evangeline-Central Credit Union has just confirmed that it will be returning, for the 12th consecutive year, as the main sponsor of the PEI Acadian Golf Tournament, taking place Sept. 10 at Glasgow Hills Golf Course in New Glasgow.

Alfred Arsenault, left, general manager of the credit union, noted that the financial institution will be contributing $1,000 to cover a good portion of the day’s expenses. Revenues from hole sponsorships and a portion of the participants’ registration fees will therefore represent the day’s profits; these will be used to help send more than 100 Island youth to the Jeux de l’Acadie finals in Miramichi, NB, next summer.

Here, Arsenault is seen with Jeux de l’Acadie mascot Acajoux as well as tournament organizers, Jeannette Gallant, coordinator of the PEI Regional Committee of Les Jeux de l’Acadie, and Raymond J. Arsenault, coordinator of the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI.

To register for the tournament (at a cost of $90 for individuals and $360 for teams), contact Gallant at (902) 854-7435 or at jeannettegallant@gov.pe.ca.
