Free breakfast meeting to inform employers about hiring staff through Express Entry Program

employeurs-au-canadaSUMMERSIDE – April 7, 2016 – Working with its partners (including RDÉE Prince Edward Island), City of Summerside Economic Development is pleased to invite Island employers to attend a complimentary breakfast and bilingual information session on the Express Entry Program April 27 at the Credit Union Place in Summerside. Registration is at 7:45 a.m. and the breakfast starts at 8 a.m.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC, formerly CIC) and the Province of Prince Edward Island, as represented by the Office of Immigration and Department of Workforce and Advanced Learning, will be hosting this event.

Canada is changing its economic immigration system to provide more recruitment possibilities for employers and more opportunities for prospective skilled immigrants. As Canadian employers now play a greater role in immigration than ever before, Express Entry can give Canadian employers opportunities to fill labour market gaps with qualified skilled workers.

This session is designed for both the federal government and the provincial government to give presentations on how their programs can benefit Island employers looking to attract skilled workers to fill gaps in their labour force, and to give Island employers a chance to ask any questions they may have.

Those wishing to attend this free event are asked to register with Nancy Quinn at nancy@city.summerside.pe.ca no later than Friday, April 22.
