CHARLOTTETOWN – Feb. 28, 2020 – « We are looking for three more Island francophone or bilingual businesses to participate in our eighth sales mission to Montreal and surrounding areas from May 11 to 15, » says Robert Maddix, entrepreneurial development officer with RDÉE Prince Edward Island, who coordinates these missions.

« They will join the five other companies that have already confirmed their participation, » he adds. « Some of these five companies also participated in our mission last fall but are returning to finalize sales agreements and to revisit other potential buyers. These companies are all looking forward to returning.”

The development officer explains that participating companies must have a product or service that is ready or nearly ready to be exported to the Quebec market. The only other criterion is that the company must have the ability to interact in French with potential buyers.

The companies accepted for the mission will be contacted by a consultant from the consulting firm Clientis who will inquire in great detail about the product or service to be sold. The consultant will then set up appointments with a minimum of 10 potential buyers for each company.

« There is really no limit on the kind of products you can try to sell during these missions, » says Maddix. « In addition, before they leave, all participants will receive training on efficient sales presentations, or pitch training if you prefer.”

Participants only have to pay 60 percent of their accommodation and transportation costs (approximately $750 to $850). All other costs are covered.

« Our participants tell us that the time and money spent on these missions gives them a very good return on their investment because they all manage to close good sales contracts, » says the coordinator.
