$1170 from casino donated to Summerside Food Bank

don banque alimentaire lowresWELLINGTON – OCT. 27, 2015 – About 60 people contributed donations totalling $117- to the Summerside Salvation Army Food Bank during a casino night at Wellington Legion Oct. 24 on the occasion of Co-op and Small Business Weeks.

At the end of the evening, Raymond J. Arsenault, representing organizers from the economic development sector, and Diane McInnis, left, representing organizers from the co-op sector, presented the amount raised to food bank representatives Mila Culleton and Kathy Cotton.

During the casino, gamblers got to play games such as roulette, Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, Crown & Anchor and Horserace. They then got to exchange their play money for lottery tickets to participate in their choice of 12 lotteries.

Among the lottery prizes offered were an iPad Mini 4 tablet, a flat screen TV, home heaters, household appliances, power tools, toys, lobster, dinner-theatre tickets along with gift cards and certificates of all kinds. The total value of these donated prizes was $3,250.
