Entrepreneurial coach and protégé testimonials to be featured during free lunch-and-learns

jeannette et williamSUMMERSIDE – Feb. 20, 2015 – All PEI francophone entrepreneurs, including immigrant entrepreneurs, are invited to attend one of two free lunch-and-learns planned for March to present RDÉE Prince Edward Island’s new Entrepreneurial Coaching Program, organized through the LIENS project.

In addition to a presentation on how the program works by LIENS coordinator Catherine Rioux, participants will also get to hear a testimonial by Jeannette Arsenault from Cavendish Figurines who served as a coach last year. Then, her protégé William Yin, a Chinese immigrant, will share in English how his business project greatly benefitted from the experience.

The first lunch-and-learn will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 12 noon at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside. The second one will be held Wednesday, March 11, at 12 noon, at the Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean in Charlottetown.

The LIENS project (linking economic immigration to our successes) aims to facilitate the integration of newcomers into the Island workforce and to give them an opportunity to explore the entrepreneurial option. The Entrepreneurial Coaching Program seeks to provide new entrepreneurs with support, over a period of six months, from a local entrepreneur who knows the local market as well as the local entrepreneurial culture.

“We hope to be able to recruit experienced PEI entrepreneurs who would be ready to lend a helping hand to a newcomer,” said Rioux. “The testimonials that Jeannette Arsenault and William will give will clearly show that both partners gain a lot from such a matching.”

LIENS is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and the PEI Office of Immigration, Settlement and Population.

To register for the free lunch-and-learns, contact Catherine Rioux at (902) 370-7333, Ext. 404, or at catherine@rdeeipe.org by Mach. 6.
