Better informed about free eForcePEI online training

WELLINGTON, PEI – Jan. 17, 2014 – Ten people attended a Jan. 17th information session in Wellington to learn more about free online training for businesses and non-profit organizations offered by eForcePEI.

Andrew Hickey, the provincial project’s sales coordinator, explained that right now, 10 programs are offered free of charge; they cover such themes as Microsoft Word 2010 Basics, marketing essentials, essential skills for administrative support professionals, human resources fundamentals, social media and accounting essentials.

Each program is comprised of a series of short courses (each lasting 45-90 minutes). Two thousand of these courses are being offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, several hundred other courses are available for sale on the www.eforcepei.ca website until the end of March 2015. Registrants have a maximum of one year to complete their course. They then receive a certification.

This information session was offered jointly by the Wellington Rural Action Centre (RAC) and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI.

During the past week, Hickey conducted a promotional tour of the program in all five of the province’s RACs.
