TYNE VALLEY – Nov. 3, 2023 – People from the Evangeline and surrounding areas have contributed several full boxes of non-perishable food items, $147.50 in cash and several knitted items – for a combined value of $1,762.60 – to the West Prince Caring Cupboard’s (WPCC) Tyne Valley Branch. Wellington Co-op manager Chris O’Brien was delighted to deliver these goods (which had been collected at the store) to the food bank on Nov. 1, when a high school class from Évangéline School also brought in the many boxes from their school food drive and helped sort all the food. The WPCC team was very appreciative of this wonderful contribution, as many people in the community are asking for groceries these days as autumn gets into full swing. Pictured, from left, are WPCC co-coordinator Verna Barlow, Chris O’Brien of the Wellington Co-op, WPCC co-coordinator Doug Leblanc, and Diane McInnis, marketing officer from Provincial Credit Union, Évangéline branch, which was one of the main partners in the annual food drive.
