WELLINGTON – Sept. 29, 2021 – Everyone who contributes non-perishable food items or a monetary donation to our community food drive Oct. 1-22 will receive a ticket for a draw for a $100 Wellington Co-op gift card. Boxes will be set up near the entrance of the Co-op to accept your donations. The collection will then be donated to the Tyne Valley branch of the West Prince Caring Cupboard and Lennox Island food banks. As well, students from all grades at Evangeline School are invited to bring non-perishable food items to school Oct. 18-22. The class that brings in the most food per student will receive a $100 cash prize from Évangéline-Central Credit Union. The food will then be delivered to the Tyne Valley branch of the West Prince Caring Cupboard food bank by the school’s Geopolitics Class (high school level). The winners of our last school drive, in 2019, were the students from the Grade 5 class. They’re seen with Diane McInnis, marketing officer with Evangeline-Central Credit Union (right), receiving their prize.
