WELLINGTON – October 6, 2020 – To encourage entrepreneurial development, RDÉE Prince Edward Island will officially launch the 2020-2021 edition of its Francophone Ignition Contest on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. during a Facebook Live session. All French-speaking people interested in launching a new business or product or expanding an existing business, or anyone from the public for that matter, is invited to watch. (The announcement will be made in French only.)
This contest, which is similar to the Shark Tank, Dragons’ Den and Dans l’œil du dragon TV shows, usually offers a $25,000 investment and other supports to the best entrepreneurial project presented. The competition includes a full weekend of training in January, a pre-selection round in February and the grand finale in March.
RDÉE representatives, including coordinator Julie Gallant, will explain the small adjustments that must be made this year to remain within the COVID-19 restrictions and will indicate how the finals will proceed.

The launch is part of the programming slated for Co-op and Small Business Weeks, taking place Oct. 11-24, 2020.
