WELLINGTON – May 16, 2023 – All seniors from the Evangeline area are invited to attend a free information session to learn how they can benefit from a range of programs designed specifically for them by the provincial government.
The session, which will take place Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Bienvenue Evangeline meeting room at the Place du Village Mini-Mall in Wellington, is offered by RDÉE Prince Edward Island, through the » Employability Évangéline 50 Years + » component of the Impact Aîné.e.s Évangéline project. Coffee and snacks will be served.
Melanie Melanson, Senior Navigator for the Department of Social Development and Seniors’ Programs and Services for Seniors, will facilitate the session. Please note that the presentation will be offered in English only but the welcoming remarks and question period following the presentation will be bilingual.
Some of the seniors’ support programs that will be discussed during the session include:
• Heat pumps (free)
• Seniors’ Independence Initiative (Light housekeeping, home maintenance, snow removal, grass cutting, meal preparation, transportation, and Lifeline Medical Alert System)
• Seniors Safe at Home Program (Grant program to help with any necessary home improvements for your accessibility, health, and safety)
• PEI Home Renovation Program (Grant program to help with renovations to your home’s structure, heating, plumbing and electrical systems)
• And other programs…
