CHARLOTTETOWN – Nov. 16, 2021 – Innovation PEI will again provide RDÉE Prince Edward Island with $25,000 from its Ignition Startup Fund to be invested in the entrepreneurial project that wins the Francophone Ignition Contest on March 2.
Matthew MacKay, Minister of Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture (the department responsible for Innovation PEI), recently met with contest coordinator Julie Gallant to discuss the event.
« Entrepreneurs play an important role in the Island’s economy, » he said. « To continue to move forward, we need to help Islanders start or grow their existing businesses. I look forward to seeing the competitors present their best ideas. »
Gallant explained that applications are being accepted for this entrepreneurial development competition until Jan. 3, 2022. Following a weekend of training, a pre-selection round of the competition will be held and finally the final round will be staged before the public in Abram-Village in March.
