Lauriers de la PME Awards returning to Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala in 2014

SUMMERSIDE, PEI – Oct. 24, 2013 – After a few years’ break, the Lauriers de la PME awards for small and medium-sized businesses will be making a triumphant return to the 2014 edition of the Entrepreneurs’ Gala, staged by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, next March 15th in Summerside.

During the Oct. 23 Entrepreneurs’ Luncheon, Chamber coordinator Raymond J. Arsenault announced that the Chamber will be putting aside its regular batch of awards for the 2014 edition of its Gala so that it can present, with RDÉE Prince Edward Island, five provincial Lauriers awards: Manufacturing/Processing Business, Retail Business, Service Business, Micro-Business and Young Entrepreneur (35 years and younger).

The Island contest will be launched at the very beginning of January. People will have until the end of that month to submit entries.

The winning dossiers will then be submitted as finalists for the national 2014 Lauriers de la PME contest being organized by RDÉE Canada. For this edition, the national jury will narrow down the submissions received from all of the provincial and territorial RDÉEs from a dozen or so down to four or five per category. These finalists will be invited to the national gala, to be held in New Brunswick, in conjunction with another pre-existing event, in November.
