WELLINGTON – Oct. 28, 2015 – All employers are encouraged to attend a free lunch-and-learn session entitled “Employment Standards and You” Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Wellington Rural Action Centre at 48 Mill Rd.
Robert Yeo, PEI Chief Labour Standards Officer, will give the presentation, which will provide an overview of the Employment Standards Act including such topics as wages, hours of work, overtime, vacation pay, special leaves and youth employment rules (for employees under 16 years)
The Wellington Rural Action Centre and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI are jointly offering this session, which will be delivered in English only. Some documentation will also be available in French.
The session itself is free but organizers are also offering a light lunch (sandwich, sweets and beverage) at a cost of $5 for Chamber members and $10 for non-members.
