New magazine for and about the Francophone and Acadian business community launched in Ottawa

lancementLavoixdesaffaireslowresOttawa, June 12, 2014 – RDÉE Canada, the nation’s Francophone economic development and employability network, and L’Acadie Nouvelle launched the first issue of the national edition of La voix des affaires this morning in Ottawa. The pioneer magazine devoted to Francophone economic development in Canada is the result of a close collaboration between the two organizations.

The new magazine was launched at the Ottawa Convention Centre as part of the RDÉE Canada annual meeting activities. The inaugural issue, which focuses on Business tourism in Canada and features related articles and snapshots of innovative businesses in several provinces and territories, is available on newsstands across Canada and in digital e-mag format at acadienouvelle.com/kiosque.

RDÉE Canada is proud to support and contribute to the development of this first issue of the national edition of La voix des affaires. A number of Communications officers from RDÉE Canada and its member organizations also took part in shaping the content of this edition.

“RDÉE Canada and its members value and want to support this collaboration with L’Acadie Nouvelle. The new magazine will help promote economic development and Francophone entrepreneurship in our Francophone and Acadian communities across the country,” said Gilles Lanteigne, Chairman of the Board of RDÉE Canada.

lavoixdesaffairesThis new publication draws inspiration from the same-titled magazine on Francophone economic development in New Brunswick, which receives support from the CÉNB (Conseil économique du Nouveau-Brunswick), the RDÉE Canada member organization in that province. The idea for this national edition took the form of a Memorandum of Understanding between RDÉE Canada and L’Acadie Nouvelle that was signed at the 5e Rendez vous Acadie Québec in September 2013.

“We are especially pleased to have leveraged our team’s expertise and talents to make this national project a reality. As a Francophone business operating in a minority situation, L’Acadie Nouvelle has a good grasp of the reality of entrepreneurs and the RDÉE Canada members. This is without a doubt a win-win arrangement,” said Francis Sonier, Publisher and General Manager of L’Acadie Nouvelle, Canada’s only French language daily east of Quebec.
