SUMMERSIDE – Aug. 24, 2023 – Participants in the 17th annual Acadian Golf Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 10, at Fox Meadow in Stratford, will have the chance to win all kinds of competitive and randomly drawn prizes. They’ll also be able to buy lottery tickets to win this barbecue from long-time sponsor Summerside Chrysler Dodge (1984) Ltd. Tournament coordinator Jeannette Gallant recently visited the local Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram dealership to accept the gift from president Warren Ellis, left, and sales manager Brody Ellis. The PEI Regional Committee of Les Jeux de l’Acadie and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, who are partners in the organization and promotion of the annual event, advise golfers that there are only a few days left to register for the tournament. In fact, golfers must register as an individual ($100) or as a team of four golfers ($400) no later than Sept. 1 by contacting Gallant at jeannettegallant@gov.pe.ca or 902-439-2791. This is also the deadline for companies and organizations to become hole sponsors (also for $100). This friendly tournament is a fundraiser for the Regional Committee’s programming, which includes, among other things, the participation of over 100 youth in the annual Finals of Les Jeux de l’Acadie.
