Seeking new businesses for potential incubation center in Wellington

WELLINGTON – Feb. 9, 2022 – RDÉE Prince Edward Island and the Baie Acadienne Development Corporation (SDBA) want to determine if there is enough interest among entrepreneurs to set up a business incubation center in Wellington.

« The SDBA has commercial and office space available or soon to be available in its buildings in Wellington. Its board of directors belives a good option to fill them up would be by offering them to start-up entrepreneurs who are looking for low-cost space for their first year. But before investing in such a project, the SDBA would need to know if there are enough entrepreneurs interested in the idea, » says Robert Maddix, RDÉE PEI’s business development officer.

« With the subsidy program that we plan to put in place, the tenant would only have to pay a rent of $200 per month for one year, regardless of the size of the space rented, » adds the officer.

To qualify for this program, the business must be new, in development, or developing new ideas, products or services.

All interested parties are asked to contact Robert Maddix immediately at robert@rdeeipe.org as the SDBA would like to set up this center and program in the next few months if there is sufficient interest. Tours of the facilities can be arranged.
