Ticket deadline is March 9th

CHARLOTTETOWN – Feb. 26, 2018 – The Department of Economic Development and Tourism has just confirmed that it is once again sponsoring, via Innovation PEI, the Acadian Entrepreneurs’ Gala, being staged by the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, and the Dragons’ Contest, organized by RDÉE Prince Edward Island. These two events are being held jointly Saturday, March 17, at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside.

Minister Chris Palmer, left, recently met Martin Marcoux, president of the RDÉE and board member of the Chamber, to discuss these sponsorships. Innovation PEI is sponsoring the 2018 Business Personality of the Year Award, to be presented at the Gala. The department will present the award to either Vanessa Lavoie from Island Orthotics, Jeannette Arsenault from Shop & Play or Ghislaine Cormier from The Great Shea and Kaneshii Vinyl Press. With regards to the 2018 edition of the Dragons’ Contest, the province is covering half of the $10,000 championship prize.

Marcoux expressed tremendous gratitude for these two sponsorships. He also reminds the public that tickets to the Gala must be purchased no later than March 9 at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside, at the Wellington Rural Action Centre or at the RDÉE office at the Carrefour in Charlottetown.
