A record $9,000 raised for PEI’s Jeux de l’Acadie delegation at 16th Acadian Golf Tournament

WOODSTOCK – Aug. 21, 2022 – The PEI Regional Committee of les Jeux de l’Acadie is overjoyed to have raised a record of $9,000 through the contributions of its 54 sponsors and the registration fees during its 16th Acadian Golf Tournament at Mill River Golf Course in Woodstock Sunday, Aug. 21.

Jeannette Gallant, coordinator of this friendly tournament, confirmed that these funds will be used for the PEI Regional Committee’s programming, including the participation of a delegation of more than Island 100 youth at the next Finals of Les Jeux de l’Acadie in Memramcook, NB, in June 2023. She therefore thanked, from the bottom of her heart, all those who contributed to the success of the tournament, including a dozen volunteers who distributed snacks, sold tickets or hosted small games along the course.

The golfers had a very sunny and hot day to play in this 2022 edition of the tournament, which was organized in collaboration with the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI. One of the teams, the Duguay family (Charles and Giselle and their children Sophie and Sylvain), even dressed in special clothes – white tie-dyed shirts in the colors of the Acadian flag, along with white caps and black shorts/skirts – for the event.
