WELLINGTON – May 30, 2019 – Everybody who would like to learn more about the Ignition Startup Fund’s entrepreneurial competition, offering prizes of $25,000 to help winners launch or expand their business, are invited to a bilingual lunch-and-learn Friday, June 14, at 12 noon at the Wellington Rural Action Centre (RAC).
Heather Rossiter, who is coordinating the provincial program for Innovation PEI, will start off by explaining the English version of the competition. Then, Velma LeBlanc will explain the Francophone Ignition Contest, which RDÉE Prince Edward Island organises with one of Innovation PEI’s $25,000 prizes.
Applicants for these contests must be start-ups in Prince Edward Island or entrepreneurs committed to establishing a new for-profit venture on PEI. Products and/or services developed must have the potential to be sold outside of PEI.
The Wellington RAC and the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, which are jointly hosting this lunch-and-learn, are therefore urging all those who have business ideas to attend to learn more about the program criteria and the application process.
The $5 registration fee for Acadian Chamber members and the $10 fee for non-members will include a meal. Interested parties must sign up by June 11 by contacting Velma LeBlanc at 902-854-3439, Ext. 228, or velma@rdeeipe.org.
