KENSINGTON – September 29, 2026 – The three Chambers of Commerce based in Prince County and other partners are joining forces to jointly organize a networking reception for entrepreneurs and business people, on the occasion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Week, on Thursday, October 22 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will take place in a tent in front of the new café-pâtisserie Knead a Brake at Trailside Plaza at 25001 All Weather Hwy in Kensington.

Interested parties can participate for free but must register in advance by filling out the small form at https://tinyurl.com/467kxaes no later than October 20 as space is limited.

Knead a Brake will provide pastries, appetizers, and beverages for those gathered for this networking session. There will also be several draws for great door prizes. Attendees will also hear a welcome message from the organizers/sponsors of the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI (CCAFLIPE), the Kensington and Area Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce, the Repreneurship Solution project, and CBDC Central PEI.

The event will also be made possible thanks to sponsorships from Caseley’s Tent & Party Rentals and the Provincial Credit Union.

WHY AT KNEAD A BRAKE?

Raphaël Amiot-Savard will host the networking reception at his café-pâtisserie Knead a Brake.

It will be remembered that Raphaël Amiot-Savard participated in the former IMPACT DD program of RDÉE Prince Edward Island to learn how to make his two-fold business – a bakery and bicycle shop named Knead a Brake – more sustainable. It was during this participation that he learned about the RDÉE's Francophone Ignition Competition. Last spring, he participated and won the competition championship, which included an investment of $25,000 $. It is thanks to these funds that he was able to open his café-pâtisserie in the village of Kensington a few months later. He was already a member of the Kensington and Area Chamber of Commerce, but gained memberships in CCAFLIPE and the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce; he is therefore a member of all three concerned chambers.

His shop was therefore a logical location for a networking reception for the three chambers and their partners. The challenge of limited space in his shop was resolved by the arrival of the sponsor Caseley’s Tent & Party Rentals, which provided a beautiful tent. Now, all that remains is to celebrate Small Business Week by meeting a number of entrepreneurs and business people.
