Young millionaires
Young Milionaires is a summer program for young people aged 9 to 16, offering them the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship. The program provides training, mentoring and ongoing support to help young people thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
About the program
Young people develop and expand their entrepreneurial skills through a series of workshops containing lessons and activities on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, such as: creativity and innovation, entrepreneurship, idea development, marketing, expenses and income, record keeping, customer service, etc.
Candidates are approved based on the completion of their application, business idea, business plan, interest and enthusiasm. Once candidates have completed the workshops, a detailed business plan and an interview, they are accepted into the program. They receive a non-repayable start-up grant of up to 150 $ for a sole proprietorship and up to 200 $ for a partnership.
The Young Millionaires program will :
- Teaching young people fundamental business skills
- Develop their problem-solving skills
- Offer opportunities to explore the lessons of failure
- Establish a sense of responsibility, independence and trust
- Helping young entrepreneurs set up their own businesses
The Young Millionaires program is managed by the Central Development Corporation and delivered with the help of several regional partners. But the French version of the program - Jeunes millionnaires - is delivered by us, RDÉE Île-du-Prince-Édouard, from one end of the Island to the other.
The Young Millionaires program has been in existence since 1991, and is funded through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) Business Development Program and Innovation PEI.
