PERCÉ program

We are pleased to announce the 23rd edition of the PERCÉ program, for the summer of 2026.

Managed by RDÉE Prince Edward Island, PERCÉ is an internship program for bilingual or French-speaking post-secondary students from Prince Edward Island (studying here or out-of-province). It's designed to introduce them to the economic, cultural and employment opportunities available in their region and province, and to show them that it's possible to build a life and a career here.

About the program

Each year, PERCÉ enables 20 students pursuing their studies to complete a paid internship of around 10 weeks with an employer in a field related to their program of study. This internship gives them the opportunity to gain practical experience in their field, while discovering employers and career opportunities in their home province.

In addition to their on-the-job experience, participants take part in three days of workshops designed to develop their professional skills and enhance their employability.

Student participants

  • Aged 30 or under;
  • Post-secondary students

* Priority will be given to students from PEI who are bilingual or francophone.

The internship search is carried out in close collaboration with the PERCÉ program team. We help each participant find an internship related to his or her field of study, and support him or her throughout the experience.

Duration

10 weeks over the summer.

Salary

PERCÉ offers the employer a wage subsidy of 7.50 $/hour for a maximum of 375 hours. The employer assumes the remaining portion of the wage, which must meet industry standards for an entry-level position in this field.

Formation

Participants also take part in three days of orientation and training focused on the development of professional skills, in addition to networking activities promoting the creation of links within their sector.

If you're interested in the PERCÉ program, be sure to complete the online registration form by March 31.

Employers

Only theederal departments and agencies are not eligible for PERCÉ funding.

Employers looking for a summer student to work in their field of study are encouraged to apply to the PERCÉ program. However, we cannot guarantee a placement, as our priority is to meet the needs of young people seeking internships. Your registration will be kept in our database, so that we can identify potential employers corresponding to the fields of study of current or future participants.

If you know a post-secondary student in your field and he or she submits an application, a «pre-match» can be considered, giving both of you a good chance of being selected.

PERCÉ offers employers a wage subsidy of 7.50 $/hour, up to a maximum of 375 hours, repayable at the end of the internship contract. The employer is responsible for paying the intern a salary in line with industry standards for an entry-level position in this field.

To submit your application as a potential employer, please send an e-mail by March 31 to : perce@rdeeipe.org
