WELLINGTON – September 29, 2026 – On the occasion of the Cooperative and Small and Medium Enterprises Week 2026, all children from kindergarten to grade 6e are invited to participate in a drawing contest on the theme «My favorite business or cooperative» at the beginning of October for a chance to win a beautiful advanced 3D printing pen Scrib3D, valued at over 130 $ and offered by the Wellington Cooperative. Alternatively, they could win a variety of interesting prizes contributed by various other community and private partners.
The goal of the competition is to encourage young people to discuss with their parents or grandparents the importance of these establishments in the local economy, both from the perspective of the services and products provided, as well as the jobs created and the charitable contributions made to the community.
Children (or their parents/guardians) can obtain a bilingual participation form from École Évangéline, Wellington Co-op, or the Wellington Rural Action Centre, or they can download it from https://tinyurl.com/yptzxw8n and print it.
Participants will then need to fill out some basic information and draw their drawing. Young people are encouraged to be creative. They do not need to limit themselves to drawing the building of the chosen cooperative or business. They can, for example, draw an employee doing their job or a customer being served.
They must submit their entry either to their teacher at École Évangéline by October 14 or directly to the Wellington Cooperative by October 17 at the latest. All drawings will be displayed on the walls of the store from October 17 to 23, with permission from the parent or guardian (as indicated on the drawing form).
The contest organizers will then conduct draws to determine the winners. Prizes will be awarded to the winners the following week.
This contest is jointly organized by the Wellington Cooperative, MacDonald Insurance & Investments, the Évangéline Community School Board, the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI, the Provincial Credit Union (Évangéline branch), the Wellington Rural Action Centre, and RDÉE Prince Edward Island.
