ABRAM-VILLAGE – Nov. 30, 2011 – Summerside Rotary Club has just presented its second of three annual $10,000 contributions towards the installation of an elevator at the new Evangeline Recreation Centre in Abram-Village. Greatly appreciating this $30,000 contribution, the center has installed a beautiful thank-you plaque on the wall near the elevator. Cédric Gallant, manager of the rink, clad in his favorite Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, is seen exchanging pleasantries with Rotary Club president Yolande Richard, dressed in the rival Montreal Canadiens jersey, next to the plaque. In addition, the center provided a nice continental breakfast to the 35 or so club members who attended a breakfast in their honor in the center’s hospitality suite Nov. 29. The club is in fact the first group ever to use the new suite. Employees from RDÉE PEI and the province helped with the preparation and serving of the meal.
